TUM Urban Design and Sustainable Urbanism

Norbert is a research associate at the TUM Chair of Sustainable Urbanism, where he teaches design studios at degree and master levels and works on research related to urban transformation and inner development processes. His research interests include conditions of asymmetric urban change, multi-dimensional inner development, thick mapping, and concept formation in the spatial disciplines. Together with Tasos Roidis and Mark Michaeli, he led the international research and teaching project IUL – Inner Urban Landscapes of Athens, which resulted in the publication of the edited book Taking Action: Transforming Athens’ Urban Landscapes in 2023. The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) supported his research in Athens in the spring of 2023 with a bilateral research exchange grant.
