zectorarchitects is a London and Munich based practice dedicated to the promotion of innovation and design excellence in architecture and urbanism.
The practice was founded in 2003 as the result of a continuous working and research relationship initiated in 1995. zectorarchitects is led by the two partners Carsten Jungfer Dipl.Ing., Architect and Urbanist, registered with ARB UK and the Register for Urban Designers in Bavaria and Norbert Kling Dr.-Ing. (TUM), Dip Arch (UEL), Architect and Urbanist, registered with ARB UK, ByAK and the Register for Urban Designers in Bavaria. Both partners qualified for RIBA part III at London Metropolitan University (UNL) in 2002.
zectorarchitects’ work is gaining public recognition through the growing number of realised projects, competition entries, exhibited work, publications, lectures and conferences. Both partners are also involved in academic research and teaching. zectorarchitects received the 2020 Munich Architecture Award (Förderpreis).
Norbert holds a Dr.-Ing. degree from the Department of Architecture at the Technical University of Munich. Between 2007 and 2012 he lectured at the Brandenburg University of Technology before he assumed researching and teaching at the TUM. In 2020, he received the Dr. Marschall-Preis 2020 of the Architecture Department at TUM.
Carsten is senior lecturer at the University of East London and is leading undergraduate design unit A since 2012. Between 2007 and 2013 he taught at Oxford Brookes University at undergraduate level, teaching year 1 and leading a design studio in degree for 5 years. Between 2009 and 2012 Carsten was also acting as design advisor to the Islington Conservation and Design Panel.
