Norbert has co-authored an essay for the exhibition catalogue. The text draws a comparison between two NEUE HEIMAT housing estates and their divergent trajectories of change.

Construction work has started on the public realm improvements for Kavalierstrasse in Dessau. Following winning first prize at Europan 10 competition we were commissioned by the city of Dessau to produce the overall design concept and masterplan for a 500m long streetscape redevelopment of central Dessau (see image on right). The public realm scheme comprises of a sequence of public spaces with flexible areas to attract a multiplicity of activities, improved pedestrian crossings and cycling infrastructure, a new public transport interchange (tram & bus) alongside general reduction of vehicular traffic. Construction is currently scheduled to be completed by the end of 2018.

Urban design at TUM: Norbert is co-teaching a design studio this summer, that engages in multi-scalar investigations of the ‘urban quarter’ by working with a study area North-East of Munichs’ centre.
